A figure clad in black from head to toe, her face completely covered, strode into the senate chamber.
One member was heard to gasp, “What on earth”.
For 20 minutes, she sat until she got the call to ask a question.
And with theatrical flourish, she tore off the veil to reveal what everyone knew –One Nation leader Pauline Hanson wanted to ask if the government would ban the burqa.
Attorney-General George Brandis got a standing ovation from his Labor and Green opponents when he criticised Senator Hanson. But did he get it wrong?
